This is part of the reason why I don't like the idea of hiring defensive-minded HCs, you'll just have to cycle through play callers till you find a good one, and then he's gone. We're going through that exact same thing with an OFFENSIVE minded HC. Either he gets better at calling plays or his utility is limited

The defensive philosophy is to limit explosive plays. In theory that makes sense, but that's what has us so tethered to the Fangio system that seemingly no one can run properly but Vic Fangio himself
