Never played P3 but I have seen so much debate about whether Portable or FES is the superior version that im just confused
I don't really think there is a "superior" version in the most typical sense. FES has an additional story segment after you beat the game (kinda similar to 4G & 5R's third semester, but way stripped back). Basically more dungeon stuff on perma hard mode. You get more lore, which explains more on what happened at the end of the game. Overall, the experience is kinda mixed. The story stuff is great, but the actual gameplay is rough imo. I wouldn't recommend someone to play it; I'd say just watch it on YouTube.
P3P has a female protagonist option, QOL changes, controllable party members (huge plus for most ppl, though probably makes the game easier since the game was balanced around the AI controlling the party members), and you can actually do social links with everyone in the party, whereas you could only do like half with FES iirc? It also has more of a visual novel presentation when you're in the real world, but in FES, everything is in 3D.
Im so disappointed ngl im feeling some kind of way rn

for me P3P is the superior version in every aspect, but these are the main points of comparison to consider between them:
extra content: FeMC (P3P) vs The Answer epilogue (FES)
exploration and cutscenes: 2D point-and-click exploration / character portraits like VN style for cutscenes (P3P) vs 3D traversal and cutscenes like P4 (FES). P3P also completely lacks anime cutscenes, but theyve aged terribly anyways
combat: party control (P3P) vs AI tactics (FES). there are also some slight mechanical differences between the two as well beyond that, though P3P plays exactly like P4 here if youve done that before.

do you have a PC already? I personally never cared to game on PC even though it's probably best, but I guess it does suck to buy a console for one game to just to have it go multi

mostly the same on my end. majority of stuff i'm interested in rn is either multiplat, PC, or just runs better on PC. sure there's a few exclusives i'm gonna love, but i'm playing on my PC 95% of the time.
