Even then I heard the treatment and medication for HIV is so good where the transmission rate is essentially 0. I’m afraid it’ll be a dealbreaker for me only because the thought about smashing someone with a virus that could kill you scares the hell out of me.

Ya if you’re on prep and your partner takes antivirals it’s very safe. Especially since both of you would be on top of it with your doctors. Theres a higher risk of you catching something hooking up with random people than somebody who’s responsible and takes the medications.

Man HIV ain’t killing you in 2024. Only way HIV is killing you is if you ignore it for so long, never get treatment, and let it turn into full blown AIDS. Then you’ll have a problem on your hands.

I was tested for everything across the board a few years ago. Pretty sure they do HSV too.

But yeah, I've heard ppl say this since I was a teen, and I've managed to stay clear of it

HSV testing is not reliable (only accurate test is administered out of UW) so it’s not on a standard panel. It also often times doesn’t even affect people even if they do have it. So they see texting as an unneeded stress causer

She got it down there, and I have it around my mouth (zero symptoms tho). She gave me head multiple times prior to testing but it wasn’t possible to catch it from that in our case lol.

I very well could’ve either had it from childhood, ex-wife, or random encounters from several women

Oral HSV is so common I wouldn’t consider this a huge loss tbh. Plus, HSV 1 is way less likely to reoccur after the initial outbreak. Another plus is now that you have it on your mouth your body has the antibodies that will make it so you won’t get it on your genitals (at least this is my understanding of it, maybe do some research first)

In terms of getting herpes this is like the ideal situation probably

The doctor I spoke to said I’m not obligated to disclose it lmao, especially if I have zero symptoms

Well… yes and no. You can spread it before an outbreak. But you don’t have to. It’s a lot more common as you get older too. It’s really up to you but I’d be safe and stuff

No biggie, keep in mind I’m completely asymptomatic and 80% of the world population has it

If you’re completely asymptomatic you aren’t even at risk of sharing it (at least that’s the info my doctor told me) so that’s a W.

But also the blood tests are bunk. Idk if you actually got a sore swabbed which is pretty accurate but the blood tests are wrong very often.
