Patch 5.3 was supposed to be out soon, but COVID-19 delayed it. So we're looking at maybe mid-July. They haven't come with an official release date, post-delay.

I mean if you're having a good time right now, go for it, but just saying that if you get through it and feel burnt out... They're nerfing the slog, and fetch quests that are notoriously tied directly to the main story in ARR.

Could definitely get through it well before Patch 5.3, without a doubt.

Okay awesome thanks for the help! Also, it might be a dumb question but right now my first character is a thaumaturge but I keep seeing those blue quest symbols that are for quests like armor, alchemist, carpenter, etc. which of those quests should I be doing and I can just ignore 90% of those?

Can completely ignore those, iirc. Those are quests to join the guild of the respective profession. So unless you want to start crafting/gathering, you can skip.
