Yep
He a pleb for not saying Don’t Look Up was too long. But I guess “mUh cElEbRiTiEs” is better for his attention span
Saw PTA was a guest host of TCM yesterday and introduced two movies. Since LP was based off a real-life film producer who worked with Tom Hanks and a child actor too. He was in the movie called Yours, Mines, and Ours and PTA shared a story about him to which it makes sense. I knew he cites Eastwood's Breezy as an inspiration to LP.
F***, do you know if someone ripped it?
Nigga music mid too so he fit right in
Kind of disappointed by this. Technically it is great, well acted, etc. but the payoff just wasn’t there for me. There were a couple of moments I really thought it was going to go down a path I loved but it just didn’t.

not trying to argue with you or anything just curious where did you think it was going to where you would have felt there was a better payoff than what we got?...personally I thought the ending was perfect for the story it was telling but interested in other takes

Honestly not really sure. I don’t think it was bad by any means, but it reminded me somewhat of one upon a time in Hollywood where it’s kind of this meandering acid trip for the first two thirds with vignettes but unlike this it all leads to this great final set piece. I think once Bradley coopers character was introduced I thought we were going to get more of this over the top series of events that culminated in a big climax, but I get that that’s not really the point of the movie. I just feel like the stakes weren’t that high and there wasn’t enough to really make us care that much about the characters, idk. Hard to put my finger on what I didn't connect with in it as much as I thought I would.
What’s y’all favorite song off the soundtrack?
Let Me Roll It might be the one!

"Licorice Pizza" by Jonny Greenwood

Fav scene atm I can’t wait to rewatch a bunch of them and find natural favourites.
Haim sisters said they brought this scene to Paul bc it really happened when they were younger

fair enough...yeah I think at its core it's just meant to be a story of their friendship and attachment to each other...how no matter what happened in their lives or how much they tried to move on from each other things just kept pulling them back together...I didn't find this film as dark as most of PTA's previous work for sure but I also wasn't going into it expecting a dark/crazy turn in the story and figured it'd be what it pretty much ended up being

really love July Tree...Life on Mars a classic of course...Let Me Roll it and Stumblin In also great...love the whole soundtrack though bought the vinyl
I WISH TO GODDD that the scene of Bradley smashing the cars up with the two hammers was left in the movie
It’s in the end credits and I guess it may have always been just for that? But that’s such an insanely energetic looking shot. From trailer #1 I was excited to see what scene that is attached too and I guess none

we'll see if there's a deleted scene with the full version of that on the blu ray maybe? guessing it was just an extension of when you see him first go to the gas station though

Ohhh true
Random unrealistic wish list thing, I’d f***ing LOVE if we got a short 15 min thing on the blu ray of all his deleted scenes
And it’s that whole night from his perspective
if I was PTA I would’ve just loved to shoot that whole thing and let Bradley go crazy and experience it all.
Ending with this shot

U watched this?
wish there was a word to describe the particular type of self- important, too-cool-for-school, white indie vibe this movie gives off..
the main character is one of the ugliest women i've ever seen. thank god they didn't do a s***scene.

might be getting two shirts although i’d rather not but TWBB is my favorite PTA movie so I feel like that tee alone is justified as well as the tee of all of his films

I agreed with O D mostly as well in terms of maybe wanting more out of the story, but it definitely set in well when I look at it the way I look at Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. where it’s just a look into these peoples lives for a small amount of time and the inevitability of them ending up together as they tried their hardest to separate theme selves from one another as it isn’t a “proper” relationship to have.
i enjoyed it a lot though, I kinda want to rewatch it just to get a genuine gauge of where I stand with it in terms of how much I enjoy it. it was really fun and aesthetically pleasing and PTA did a great job on this I think.
kinda wish it wasn’t a 10 year difference of age tho like damn man couldn’t she have been 18 and him 15? but I guess it might fit the era better with that big of a gap in age?
