Different sounds tho. Colours is that ambient sad alt r&b that has blown up in the past few years, except Party executes it to perfection.

C2 is the start of the commercial sound party started to bring into his music. I fw Freak In You and Peace of Mind. They’re not no Let’s Get Married or Girl From Oakland tho. Let alone a Jus Know, that’s another level

people have been begged party for an album every day for 3 years just to get back to s***posting the following day

Party showed he was really good at executing that more accessible sound though I really would've preferred some more Colours 2 vibes than what we got on this new project

It's way more upbeat and pop-friendly than Colours 2
C2 was that bryson tiller adjacent rnb and he showed he could do it better

Horrible decision to even release that song without drastically changing it from the demo

Since some of these records on this album are from that time too

Party has always pushed the envelope with each project. Maybe he just felt that sound had been done too much. I can’t tell you there’s an R&B project that sounds like Mobile rn

And I feel like Bryson tiller has always used PND 2 as his blueprint

Another Day is prolly P3 era but it sounds pretty underdeveloped compared to the rest of the album

I think P3 was still moving in the same direction as P2 with the downtempo emotional rnb it just got rawer but this new album is like he started from scratch

The demo wasn’t even all that, it was a cool little vibe but nothing more. Woulda been a nice minute interlude but i think he dragged that s*** too much. Damn near 7 minutes

Tiller used that P2 sound and just went diet drake on the lyrics/content

I still think party started that P2 sound on P1 with the wus good outro

Maybe reggaeton has trained my ear to enjoy more up beat music, but I feel Party finally found the sweet spot with his dark r&b and more pop inspired sound
