These songs ain’t been groundbreaking but I can say I enjoy them to a extent . More than I enjoy most RnB coming out
I can respect this take. They're not great or groundbreaking to me but I'm happy for the people who feel like it is. I wish I could listen to the songs with that same ear.

Man, not a lot of people right now, but I still bump Summer Walker's album. Jhenè Aiko's new album should be fire. Doja Cat isn't exactly R&B, but her album is fire, too. SiR's album was flawless. Gallant's album wasn't as great as I'd hoped, but he's got some dope joints on there. Brent Faiyaz's album was also good. Those are the ones I can name off the top real quick. I'm sure there are more.
I'm hoping the new projects that drop this year are good. H.E.R. finally drops her debut album this year. It should be good.

I know he can make better songs because he has made better songs in the past. I'll slow my roll now and wait for the full album with the hope that she songs there are infinitely better than any of the singles he has released so far. I just wanted to point out that the singles he has released so far are weak, predictable and are like a worse version of older ideas he's explored in a much better way.

I know I was missing some people. Mabel's album is really good. Solid debut album. Harry Styles isn't R&B, but his album was also a highlight for me. Kehlani's tape was really good. There's this group named MUNA, they don't make R&B music exactly but their album last year was good and their 2017 album was even better. I'm sure it's some other people I haven't thought of but yeah.

For me what’s maybe missing a bit is excellent vocal execution. Well written song. It his voice sounds off
Why were his vocals so much better on Summer album
Weeknd on the other hand great vocals and prodiucion, weak lyrics
