apparently she’s famous for starring in full frontal “erotic” films in Korea..
so ppl saying that cooch rubbing scene was prolly a lil nod to that lol
Holy s*** that was the movie of the year and it isn't close. Absolutely brilliant.

The Lighthouse OUT NOW
yeah this absolutely slapped. First one of Bong's movies I've seen, and went in almost completely blind. Was blown away, probably a 4.5/5 for me. My one gripe was the almost epilogue at the end. I didn't necessarily need a "hopeful" ending. Felt a little too corny for me. Loved how all movie there was never a true protagonist, as clearly everyone was only in it for themselves. So the framing of the end was a bit disappointing to me
also why are people saying it being accessibly is a bad thing, thats the movies greatest strength, because the classism themes are universal. no matter where you're from you can relate to it heavily and apply it to your culture
Movie was dumb hard
There was some good ass shots too
At top of my head the one the dude hits Kevin and you see his head on the floor with his blood mixed with that jar the dude drank and threw on the floor
That and the whole sequence of Kim walking away from the crime scene
Kinda bummed I had to leave quick during the credits because the score that started sounded hella dope
Okay so I’m new to this filmmaker, is his other work as good/better which one should I check out after this? because this lowkey makes me wanna rewatch Oldboy somehow lol
Also if anyone has suggestions of similar asian movies like that hit me up fam

This is probably his most accessible film but definitely peep Memories of Murder. Has the father in it as a detective I believe. F***ing amazing film.

Memories of Murder is his best work besides this
Idk how familiar you are with korean films but I would say Burning (it shares similar themes to Parasite), The Handmaiden, The Wailing & Right Now, Wrong Then are good entries
If you f***ed with Oldboy then I Saw The Devil might be up your alley

watch chingu/friend if you haven’t already
not really like parasite other than it being a Korean classic
Thank you all for the suggestions, I’m keeping notes of it all, I don’t know much of that cinema tbh
The Lighthouse OUT NOW
Nah, Parasite had more to say, so it's stuck with me a lot longer
