i tried to like this album so much, but i can only return to certain songs. it feels like almost every track drags on way too long, and the vocals are relatively weak. the cover and the title are so cool, though!

I honestly barely listen to any new rock nowadays but this album was a rare one which really made me revisit often. Amazing sound and it's impressive as hell that it's all virtually programmed instruments because it sounds so organic.

Second track in particular lyrics hit hard too ngl (he posted translations on bandcamp)

Also love that it's inspired by Lily Chou-Chou which is one of the most creative and unique films (and got one of the most gorgeous OSTs) ever.

    this s*** all virtual instruments

    rateyourmusic.com/feature/sonemic-interview-parannoul

JT: What sorts of guitars, pedals and gear did you prefer to use in making this album?

P: This was the most difficult question for me to answer. I never tried to hide the truth, but I didn't want to break people's "fantasy". I also know that this answer will disappoint numerous people around the world. But I think I should be confident in myself, so I'll be 100% honest from now on. Some of the listeners may have already noticed, but almost all of the instruments in the album are VSTi.

I thought I wouldn't have to play the guitar, because I could make the sounds I wanted even if I used it as a virtual instrument. And my guitar skills are very terrible. Also in order not to get caught by anyone that I'm making music with, I had to keep as quiet as possible. That's why I made music with only one computer in the bedroom. I wanted to make a sophisticated lie rather than the unfinished truth.

After hearing this information, there will be people who think they were deceived. Some people would call my music "unqualified" to the band's music. Of course it's all my fault, and I would like to apologize about that. You can de-rate my album. But still, my goal was not to be noticed that almost everything is a virtual instrument when someone listens to my song without any background information. And if it was successful, it would be the greatest compliment.

While recording the vocals, I didn’t have a good recorder in my house, so I recorded the snippets on my old Galaxy 5 smartphone and then pasted them into the old DAW on the old computer. It's the only 'lo-fi' element in this album.
