Man my dad was always a fan of Ozzy and Black Sabbath, I remember he used to watch The Osbournes on tv when I was a kid
But a random beautiful moment always linked to their great music, is when I put on Planet Caravan, while I myself was far gone with my girlfriend at the time
And that song transported us to a whole different dimension, pure magic, I'll never ever forget that bliss
What a personality. What a man. What a voice. What a legacy. What a talent.
A man that lived his life!
RIP Ozzy

His voice suited them so well, just as much as it easily glided along harsher riffs. A lot of my favorite moments on Sabbath record, were when they let him flex a little more. Ballads just tend to center that. She’s Gone is one of my favorites from him.

yeah you know Ozzy was thrilled to finally have an entry in the big ass ballad canon like all the songs he admired

that another reason why The Writ is my all time favourite lol he managed to squeeze a lovely little harpsichord bridge in toward the end amongst the monster riffs and primordial bass rumbling segments
