Cage wasn’t scary. Made the film feel tonally inconsistent. It didn’t feel all that unique. Third act was contrived. Wasn’t invested in the characters. Didn’t find much meaning in the story.

I do question the accomplice choice they ran wit. Prolly cus I went into it thinking he was some Buffalo Bill type killer. I do like the way he came across tho, personally I find it more scary when someone is all jolly like that rather than trying to be actually scary in a typical format. But now that you mention it if I wrote this I’d prolly have Nic be on some Mandy type s\*\*\* but the bad guy version of that.

It was just sort of blah. I didn’t care enough about the mom for it to register as anything other than a shrug. And it’s not far-off from stuff I’ve seen before. The dolls with the “brain” orbs were like the only part of this giving me any spice, and it was not nearly enough spice.

This was alright. Overhyped as hell but it had a nice creepy atmosphere and tone throughout.

Movie was a little too slow paced for my liking but Maika and Nic Cage did their thing. Blair Underwood also killed it too.

Also is Maika character supposed to be on the spectrum or something? Shorty was hella awkward throughout the whole movie and not "normal" awkward either
