Cd version superior anyway
I didn’t even know there was two versions for the longest time
When I heard the version with the intro interlude and outro with the same beat i knew where Wayne got the idea for c1 and 2

Yup
That’s Wayne’s favorite Hov album
And there’s something interesting about that too. Wayne gets Vol 3 and Vol 1 confused because Vol 3 actually has the lyrics to “Lucky Me” and other past Hov songs in the booklet, which is pretty unique. And those are the lyrics that Wayne got tatted and rapped on Mr Carter
So I think Wayne thinks that lucky me is on vol 3, when I’ve heard him talk about it I could tell something was off but then I noticed the Lucky Me lyrics in vol 3 booklet. Pretty dope that the booklet probably put wayne on to that and spoke to him

lol wouldn’t surprise me if he confused the two that’s an interesting observation
Damn that's truly wild to me, "It's my first album... and my last! Enjoy it, 'cause this is all you get!"
Different era, it’s alot of artists that got deals and never got the chance to drop. Jay and Zthe ROC also struggled to be taken serious by alot of the labels back then pre RD so I do think he looked at it as a “if this s*** don’t work..l type situation.
Similar to the marketing behind big K.R.I.T’s tape Krit Wuz Here

Imaginary Players 2?? F*** I’d love to hear that
Imaginary Players is such a classic 🔥
Wonder if it’s over the same beat.
Considering a tracklist was submitted and published I wouldn’t be surprised if some ppl working at def jam/rocafella had promo/advanced copies of this version of the album in some format.
Guess this the new grail to try and find
Vol 2 is actually my least favorite of the 90s Hov albums but wish this was floating around on the internet
Life I Chose is top 3 Hov songs ever. Better than Regrets.
And if I'm not mistaken the last song he ever did with Jaz.
u feel that strong about Life I Chose? not one i see many if any ppl bring up. might need to give it a real chance. it defo was clicking more with me relistening to it again today.
it would have made it the last song jaz appeared and produced (assuming its a jaz beat, sounds like it) on a jay album if it did mke the album. probably for the best it didnt cas jaz's production style was becoming outdated real quickly by 98. tbf this song on a album with money cash hoes, paper chase, can i get a sounds really out of place and a couple years behind where hov was trying to go.
This is the last song they ever did in 2001, s*** is ass. jaz got in his feeling jay didnt do the video but im not even mad he declined lol.

I could be wrong but I remember reading how KWH was recorded and released with Krit intended to give it one last shot to break through or atleast marketed it that way. But now it’s conflicting articles Online so maybe I’m thinking of sumn else.
But the title kinda leads more into my original assumption and some of the content on the tape.

nah you’re right. krit had an interview where he said his parents told him he gets one more tape and if i doesn’t work he needs to get a job and put music aside

Imaginary Players is such a classic 🔥
Just noticed that Imaginary Players 2 likely got scrapped and turned into ride or die. Listen to the 3rd verse on ride or die. it uses the exact same rhyme scheme on imaginary players
"I got cop ‘n crash money, pop the dash money
Press the button, all of sudden, Glock in the stash money
Beef with Jigga, watch yo' ass money
It's El Presidente, top brass money"

Good catch
It also makes sense because Ride Or Die is the subminal diss song of the album like Imaginary Players was

the whole song sounds like the same topic as imaginary players makes sense
“i prolly make more money off your album than you” still goes
