People who absolutely hate Trump won’t care, but the people who have disliked Trump or were on the fence will see those on the far left who are complaining that the shooter missed and be turned off

3. His poll numbers jumped after his arrests because there’s a swath of voters that feel he is being persecuted. This dumps gasoline on that momentum

4. Having one of the biggest political moments of at least the decade, possibly the century so far - and it’s not a scandal that reflects badly on him - is a massive plus. All publicity is good publicity, but this publicity is incredible publicity

Biden won 2020 due to Democratic voters being significantly more fired up than Republican voters. I think this will light a fire under republican voters like we haven’t seen before, while it hurts democratic enthusiasm at a time where the base was already pretty unenthused.
