Apparently Rock’s flashback has created a continuity error. The skull already had holes in Kaido’s flashback before he even joined the crew. Making Rocks look identical to BB, the negative implications for the story this has created, have soured me on this flashback tbh

To me making Rocks look like BB is more about making a greater impact instead of serving the story’s logic. It’s really one of the worst things he’s done.

When Blackbeard was eating with the other Warlords (implied to be Mariejois) he was surrounded by top Marines and in the heart of the World Government’s power, under the watch of Imu and their henchmen… yet they did nothing. We know that much of Rocks history is a mystery to the marines except for the top brass. How could the Five Elders not know what Rocks looked like and ALLOW a nigga that looks like him to a tee become a Warlord? And even if that were the case, how could they allow someone who resembles him exactly to become a Warlord without ever using that as leverage?

They had BB at their whim and never tried to capture him? If the Five Elders didn’t inform Imu who we know has shown violence against BB by staking a knife on his wanted poster then that makes them look incompetent and weak.

I thought that maybe the end of the latest chapter places the giants at God Valley somehow

I would've preferred him to have a different face too, just expanding on that old face would've been cool, although his BB-esque appearance does add to how crazy he looks and I'm sure we're all down to see the theory that 'offscreen BB' is actually Rocks taking control of the body be validated in some form.

The blackbeard warlord thing doesn't count as a plot hole imo, since they offered Ace a warlord spot back in the day and didn't connect the dots with him. Roger as the KOTP who knows the secrets of the void century, will of D etc, is surely seen as more of a contentious figure to the WG than Rocks

imo sometimes Imu & T5Es stay idle since their immortality means they don't really respect the passage of time like everyone else, they don't have that sense of urgency, I'll give Oda a slight pass for it

Experiencing it week to week & seeing one chapter stretched into an episode can be rough
