Tbh, i didnt agree with thread title that much, i thought egghead was cool but had too much exposition dump, an all over the place pacing, and some fanservice i didnt like, but the latest 5 chapters or so are some of the best of the entire post timeskip, amazing stuff, this is the one piece i love

Shanks not wanting to be pirate king definitely has something to do with what Roger told him that made him cry. My guess is that it was too early and they had to wait for a special someone that would eventually be Luffy.
