But a mini detour moon arc before elbaf would be fire
They’ve just set up that so much that one last insane adventure before the major endgame stuff would be great. Also Enel return it seems inevitable. We know Vegapunks robots are on the moon too.
This is one of the craziest character designs I've seen, even from Oda

I’m almost certain he based it off that meme of Einstein lmao
Need to know what Vegapunk is going to show them immediately
Next Friday cant come soon enough
ELBAF SO SOON
USOPP GLO UP OTW
They better give that nigga a gun or something
Imagine usopp killing people with headshots
@Gyro Dragon ain't that nigga's kid man
@Gyro Dragon ain't that nigga's kid man
Could be possible
Or Rocks could be related to Garp, he was a D of course
@Gyro Dragon ain't that nigga's kid man
I just don’t get how this would make sense narratively

I could imagine a world where those two and Roger grew up together
I could imagine a world where those two and Roger grew up together
Think that might be a stretch but we nothing about their pasts so far so anything is possible
I really have a feeling we getting a moon arc soon. All this futuristic stuff is easing us into that.
Enel szn soon

I'm trying to fit the pieces together as to HOW, but a couple reasons for the WHY I think this is possible:
1\. Garp has never directly called Dragon his son
2\. In 1066, Vegapunk had to tell Dragon there are good people in the navy, you'd think the son of the marine hero would know this already?
3\. Vegapunk also said that Dragon himself hates war, with the understanding that Rocks was violent that might have been offputting for his kid with him wanting to change the world in his own way
4\. Already have a precedent of name's being hidden (Gol D. Ace)

Counterpoints
Some theorize that this is Garp talking about Luffy's mother and not Dragon. Up in the air I guess.
1 - I wouldn't say that necessarily holds much weight. Could be a hint, but also wouldn't be surprising that a marine hero might not be all that enthusiastic with their child being a revolutionary war criminal.
2 - The marines are technically at war with the pirates, it's not exactly the lifestyle of an active marine would leave much time to raising their children. People also theorize that Luffy's mother is a celestial dragon, and perhaps that could play a role in Dragon having hated war on the flipside. However Garp himself is not a fan of the Celestials either, and idk how his daughter would be a Celestial, but Garp isn't one.
4 - Managing to keep Dragon being the child of Xebec seems difficult. Marines would've been all over him, WG would've been all over him, and then there's those that sailed along with Xebec. On top of that Dragon would've been 16 or 17, and being adopted by Garp at that age seems a bit old by one piece standards.
5 - The Monkey D name seems to be passed down from the fathers side from what we know.
6 - Far as looks go I don't think it means much in OP. We all thought Ace and Luffy were legit brothers and they do look similar. Gear 4 Luffy does look a bit like Dragon too.

Yeah that panel right there was what had me first thinking something was up way back when
Yeah this one might not be the biggest hint, but I disagree that Dragon being a rev would be a bad thing to Garp, because he directly opposes pirates but still laughs and proudly says "that's my grandson" whenever he reads a new story about Luffy in the papers
The one about Luffy's mother is tricky, because there's so many different ones flying around about her. One says she's a Celestial, another says she's somehow related to Akainu, in this instance if I'm right that Dragon is Rocks' kid then Luffy's mom would have to be Garp's. I'm gonna play that safe and say she ain't a Celestial
For this point, I was legit just talking to somebody about it. I at first compared it to Garp "raising" Ace and how the marines were hunting down Roger's kids, but Sengoku even said they didn't pick up on it till they saw Ace in combat. Furthermore, they went after Roger because he already knew everything, and didn't want to risk any of his lineage being the one they should've been looking out for. There's no evidence that Rocks knew the whole history, just that he wanted to pack up the Celestials. Dangerous, yeah, but not enough to round up his whole family IMO. And yeah Dragon would've been 17 at that point so I'm iffy on the adoption angle, maybe he made it work out on his own and didn't offer a family name, but if the newly minted marine hero were to come out and say "yeah, this is my son" I doubt there'd be a lot of opposition to it either.
Yeah all names are passed down by the fathers, I'm saying if he were to have switched his name to not be associated with his father (assuming I'm correct) we have precedent of that already in the story. And yeah, the looks thing isn't super spot on. The clearest example of a father and the kid looking alike is Usopp and Yasopp, I just find it increasingly weird how REALLY close these two characters seem to look

What if it's another big strawhat?

I forgot, the biggest hole in all this too though is that one of the voice actresses asked Oda about Luffy's mom and Oda replied with, "Luffy's adventure began after he left his mother's arms. I want to tell this young man’s story, so [his] mom is not part of it,"
I feel like it's possible that she could only be pivotal to Dragon's story, but it seems like if she has some key aspect to things that she'd also have some impact on Luffy's story too. Only out I could see is Luffy not caring because he's focused on his own adventure.
It's tricky, it would very shonen of Oda if that theory were to play out to be true.

Yeah I remember this, and idk if I'm just a weird skeptic but I've always had like this feeling that Oda's lying lol. I have no evidence to support this, just a personal feeling of mine but I'll take those words of his at face value. If that's telling the truth, then there really is no significance to his mother so Dragon would have to be Garp's son
What if it's another big strawhat?
If it is Ima need some deep cut lore to go w it
