It was just too messy and all over the place for me. If it had been a lil bit more focused it would have been top tier cause it had a lot of potential. A lot of the plot points just seemed not executed that well (the straw hats switching bodies, the gigntification of the children). Also some parts just dragged on for way too long (them running away constantly from the poison thing for example). Didn't care for new characters except kinemon. Also I liked vergo but he was kinda wasted for a badass law moment. The yeti brothers. Those are some points that come to mind right now. Lie I said, I still enjoyed it, but it's just not as Good as the rest for me personally

Yeah. Ive only played 3 & 4, and 4 is a HUGE improvement. Especially in the story department. Some people complained that it skipped over alot of arcs, but so far (Ace just died), the stuff it skipped were the arcs I hated in 3.

They just give you a cutscene on what happened. The gameplay they def stepped it up too. It's like they unlocked characters to be at their true potential, with the flashy specials and stuff.

I'mma keep it a bean. All of those cutscenes leading up to Ace's death HIT HARD. I don't even remember how it played out in Pirate Warriors 3.

I don't necessarily hate the arc I just find it weak overall and the fact that it's in between the two best arcs of the series doesn't help at all.
Outside of zoro vs ryuma/kuma I don't recall any memorable moment in the arc, the villains were lame (don't think Gecko Moriah was at any moment a real threat just a pain to deal with, well i got a soft spot for perona tbh) and the humor didn't hit for me

I kinda understnad your criticism, and I guess its just a matter of preferences. Cause I thought that arc was hilarious, all the different zombie designs were awesome. Brook is amazing(his backstory one of my favourites too with laboon), the strawhats vs oars fight is one of the best fights of the series imo. I agree that moriah wasnt that great of a villain tho, I think oda had a lot of potential with his power and espeacially with his motive (being defeated and having his crewmates killed by kaido and therefore losing his ambtion as a pirate) but oda never really went deep enough with his character

The arc did give us the best amv oat i'll give it that

Outside of that though there are some underrated moments like usopp vs perona and all the ryuma scenes.

@Law just gonna post here so that I don't spam the other thread and so that I don't have to worry about placing spoilers or whatever:

So Marineford has taken up one of my top 3 arcs so far in the story along with Sabaody and Water 7. For starters, the war was incredible. From the Impel Down escapees joining forces with the Whitebeards, to the Navy actually looking formidable, to the various ulterior motives by the Seven Warlords. As a sidenote to that, Boa Hancock is a top 5 character From her mannerisms around Luffy to everyone else, to her elite pose, and the fact that she can actually box with anybody she's a perfect funny character while also being taken seriously.

The side characters actually had value. The Whitebeards and allies such as Marco, Jozu, and Squard played important roles to the efforts. Had Crocodile shock everyone and stop one of the execution attempts. Mr. 3 coming through to free Ace. Even Akainu's b**** ass being the one to do the job Then you have the show of mutual respect between OGs like Sengoku, Garp, Whitebeard and Shanks.

Can't talk about the war without Whitebeard and he was a flat out BEAST. His fruit powers, his mystique, the clout he had in the pirate world (evident by the war and the fallout) man....the guy was it. The one shot that stuck with me the most is where even after getting gunned down by Blackbeard is even though he died he never fell. Even while dead he's still standing, still looking down on Teach, never the reverse.

I'm going to include everything post-war to this arc as well but focus mainly on the flashback to Ace, Luffy and Sabo growing up with Dadan. It hurt to see Ace questioning his existence even at 10, Luffy struggled to get accepted, and Sabo just wanting to have fun with his two brothers. Garp returning to Windmill Village just to have Dadan beat him down was heavy stuff and mannnnn Luffy was in a bad way and I can't blame him. I related to both Luffy and Ace; Ace, being in a big brother in the sense that I would protect my younger brother as well, and Luffy in the sense that I would be devastated if I lost my brother.

One thing that got played out though was the dumb inmates throating Buggy.

Some questions that still linger after this include (don't have to answer obviously just things I'm keeping my eye on):

1. From Buggy's relation to Roger and Rayleigh, and him making the connections in Luffy's family, is there truly a connection between Luffy and Rayleigh?

2. Coby has Conqueror's Haki?

3. Since Garp is "retired" is there a chance he makes a move on Akainu?

4. What are Law's intentions?

5. With it being teased so much, especially so in this arc, what is the connection of everyone with D. in their name?

6. I remember a line that Luffy said where he wanted at least 10 members in his crew but we're only up to 9 so far. Will there be a 10th Straw Hat or does that not matter anymore?

Anyway I've already seen the reunion so I'm going to continue on with Fishman now
