This is why y'all are surprised when someone says WTT isn't a classic cause every Kanye album is a classic now apparently
Nah that’s not why at all
In a complete vaccum from any artist WTT would be a classic still

No it wouldn't be. It can be an iconic album it doesn't have to be a classic
Might as well call every album a classic now if we're doing this
It killed the bling era and helped to establish Drake's dominance
They made the entire album cause of Drake
Idk man I don't think Drake & Wayne being the inspiration behind it helps their case
high point for collab albums. my only critique of the album is that ye kiiinda laps jay a bit. Jay around 2011ish wasn't at his best creatively, while ye was on fire.
So much trash on this album it's actually unreal
This is a banger

the bling era killed itself honestly, s*** was dead in the water by like 2009 at the latest and the genre was starving. Drake, 808-rebirthed ye, and chief keef (maybe the trap+drill movements generally) had more to do with reviving the genre than wtt I'd say.
Is every Kanye album a classic to you guys at this point? Lol
he's def in the running for an artist with most impactful albums. at minimum he has dropout, 808s, and mbdtf.

the college albums are all classics
Here's how I see it.
For regular rap standards, WTT is a pretty elite album with some really high highs.
But, for Kanye and even Jay standards, the album isn't on par with their greatest solo work.
Also, some of the dubstep/electro production on songs like Who Gon Stop Me didn't age particularly well. And one of the main hallmarks of Kanye albums is that they all age well. But WTT almost bucks the trend.
That said, I think people calling the album "mid" or "bad" are setting the bar way too high. Critics didn't even pan this album that much. It's a good/decent album that just has some trendy elements to it that didn't make it top tier for Kanye or Jay standards.
The album has some classic singles that still get played a lot to this day and it also contains "Murder To Excellence" which is one of the most brilliant social commentary rap songs of the last decade.

Literally every album but ye and JIK are classic
Bad bait
Bait nowadays is not thinking that Kanye has 12 classics apparently
