Really want a vegan gf but I don't go to vegan restaurants like that and idk where to meet other vegans if not there

    Had a vegan gf

I’m not vegan but I support the cause and trying to implement plant based meals into my diet

Me and her hit up so many vegan restaurants in the summer, I had whole new world opened up to me

So does meat? It’s all about doing the best we can for what we have anyways

  • Jan 16, 2022

Okay yeah I get it. I personally only eat meat like once every week or every second week from a place where they grass feed and finish their beef

yeah true, but isnt it that the amount of veggie stuff vegans consume kills an absurd amount of insects?

I’m curious, did you bring this up because you actually care about the insects or because you are trying to poke holes in veganism?

i dont know honestly. i wish i knew what "diet" makes the most sense. i was vegan last year, then heard about the arguments of eating meat which make sense to me and made me decide on getting meat from good sources. but i still kinda think that it doesnt make sense to kill any living beings and potentially vegetarism is the best diet

i think i wrote this cause im interested in the topic and would like to hear more arguments and infos

honestly man there are so many reasons to be vegan that out weighs any combating arguments.
If you see veganism as merely a diet, you miss the whole purpose. It is a lifestyle that combats poor health, the damaging of the environment, classism & cruelty of other beings

i think environment, cruelity. im there with the veganism side but the health side is what makes me not be vegan

    what about these arguments.

meat (especially liver and other organs from fish and animals) are the most nutrient rich and nutrient dense things the world has to offer for humans to eat. vegans have to take supplements that wouldnt be available in nature by itself to sustain a diet where they get the vitamins and nutrients they need. this is something that takes research and im not that well versed in it too but from what i gathered is that vegans obviously feel good after switching to vegan diet because they come from a bad and unhealthy diet and of course thats a step up, but after a few years a lot of vegans look depleted, lacking in energy, muscles... so i wonder whats your view on this if youre well verse in that topic cause i know theres simplicist answers like "oh veggies have everything you need in nutrients and vitamins" which seems to not be true.

also another argument i have against veganism is proteins. without eating an insane amount of lentils or supplements (which arent available in nature by itself once again) vegans dont get enough protein. im curious here if you for example know and count how many proteins you are eating a day and have any argument to say that veganism itself supports having a protein rich diet.

another question that i have is. would veganism make sense if we were humans from 2000 years ago? we wouldnt have supplments etc. and it would be hard to have a healthy diet as vegan with only what is given to us by nature.

i dont wanna provoke here. yeah honestly i am kinda on the side against veganism and pro vegetarism but its just whats in my head. if theres anyone that actually thinks has good counter arguments for my two above that are pro veganism im open to hear them.
