There are a lot of foreign interest groups in the US (none as big as Israel of course). There’s a legal difference between taking money from foreign interest groups that are registered and openly reported vs behind-the-scenes money exchanges made for enrichment of specific individuals. Like it or not there’s a major difference between voting for a politician you know AIPAC is funding out the ass vs finding out 2 years later the guy you voted for was being given millions to reroute money in secret to foreign corporations
