Osiris_Has Sony ever lost a home console generation though? 360 definitely ruled USA for most of its time but I think PS3 ended up selling more units by the end of the Gen
wii sold the most so financially they would be the 'winner' even if the game lineup wasn't fantastic or memorable
i think sony has learned enough from the ps3 f***up to not do something outrageous again but we'll see. they have a solid grip on EU and Asian markets and Xbox had a disaster this gen that will take a lot of work to recover from so I really don't see them losing ground.
Nintendo is doing well but the Wii U's failure and Switch's release put them in a strange spot in terms of console release dates

I wouldn't say they lost, but definitely in the beginning they got complacent and tried to do too much which is why it came out at $600.

DoubleO 5Sony f***ed up the PS3 by making it an entertainment machine before gaming but they recovered
Xbox f***ed up the xbox1 by making it an entertainment machine and never recovered
All they both have to do give the power to gaming and the extra s*** last

majority of the casual market just gonna stick with them even if Microsoft does nothing wrong... Just based off of pure brand familiarity ESPECIALLY for the kids who grew up on the current genNot only brand familiarity but their reputation as far as libraries go just isn’t close.
There will be people that get the PS5 because they know the Japanese content will be there. I know thats a big contributing factor for me

Everything the PS3 could do in terms of media/entertainment & undoubtedly having a better library than the Xbox & Wii.
It was the best system that gen imo. Just not the cheapest lmao

To be fair I am really happy that xbox is seemingly all in this time and are making really strong moves to at the very least cut into the lead. It's good for all consumers if the xbox does well tbh.
