I really hope the Digital edition is $50 less than $499
50 is pretty much guaranteed
Why not 100
Digital has the same SSD space as the disc console?

Lmao, praying to god Warzone ain’t 200 gigs. That optimization s*** people keep saying is cap cause any benefits from it gets offset from the 4K textures the games will be getting.
Gonna be using my PS5 to catch up on all PS4 games I've wanted to play. Y'all think I should get Spiderman GOTY for $20 or wait for MM deals or Black Friday deals to save more?
Yooo same. Can't wait

These days discs are just used as keys to download the game, you’re still using up the same size regardless

I know that but I would've expected Sony to beef up their all-digital console with a bigger SDD.
Same with M$'s series S.

Do you understand why that wouldn’t make sense though? The SSDs are easily one of the most expensive components of the console, not even comparable to the cost of a disc reader. If they made the consoles the same price then sure
Hoping it’s the 13th
It seems like we might get to know when next week... Or nothing later than early October 2020 hopefully
@GEOLINK There's a rumored 2 TB PS5 coming out in 2021 probably... So you gotta either wait for it or upgrade PS5's storage with a 500 GB's - 8 TB's NVME M.2 SSD.

wtf - so they might drop another ps5 within a year? what's the point

I understand that but now there's clearly no advantage of getting the digital over the disc.
Except you might pay $20 less, which isn't a big deal.
Honestly it's more of a disadvantage of getting digital over disc now, since you'll lose PS4 BC if you have a PS4 physical library.

That's why everyone is speculating price. If the digital comes in at 399 and the disc version is 499, that's a huge incentive to buy the digital version. Sony still ends up winning cuz you get locked into their online store
Possible event on the 18th

Sony will 100% be taking a loss on the digital version, but offering it at a $100 or even $50 discount will broaden their market quite a bit.

We got action

Yeah that might happen 1-2 years after the PS5 has been released as people are going to complain about the storage the PS5 has right now and not everyone wants to upgrade because of the the price and other stuff or they don't know how to do it. But I am going to upgrade the PS5 I'll be getting anyway so it only having 825 GB's isn't a huge issue for me
@Warriox Interesting... So something between September 18th - October 2nd 2020 hopefully.
