Well I don't think there will be a second version of it in 2027 or 2028... More like 2029-2031... But I won't get one before a Midnight Black version of it is out anyway

Upcoming we got ghost of yotei, saros, physint, wolverine, intergalactic, Star Wars eclipse and kotor remake, new Santa Monica studios IP, etc.

and lots of 3rd party games like re9 and gta6 and on and on and indies too, idk what y’all mean no games

that was for ps5. ps5/xbox have no games this gen except for like 2

Y’all think the PS Portal is worth it? My main concern is just if there’s noticeable input delay or if I can still play all of my games with it at home or some hotel without losing much control of the inputs.

I've seen someone on twitter saying that xbox was actually more profitable than playstation this quarter even though their hardware sold way less. Funny how the perception is always that playstation is detroying xbox lol

after all of those purchases, i'm sure xbox realized that they were more publisher than console producer at that point and began operating as such. what they also have over sony in this regard is the dominance over the non-console ecosystem. if a game is going to pc, its on the microsoft windows platform. over time, there'll be little reason to lock oneself in sony's walled garden esp if there's no "wall" anymore. i wonder if the projected profits will make up for it

the big reason for me while I’ll never migrate is i sit at my desk all day and don’t want to game at my desk, I’d rather sit on the couch and play PlayStation or Nintendo

Also games on consoles really do just work, whereas on pc 10 minutes in I’m searching for articles and forum posts about why this particular game has an issue with crashing in windows 11, or something like that

i prefer console gaming too but if Sony starts to phase out exclusives and hardware because it's cheaper/more profitable to do so in their projections, we might not have that PS option anymore. and if MS really does come out with a console/steam hybrid, that'd really reorder things.

@Chilla If you don't mind buying the PSP 3/PS Vita 2 (Or whatever it'll be called) in like 2 years and this PS Portal now... Then sure. If not then nah save for that handheld coming in Holiday 2027 (So far)

Also I do think there's some latency since it's Wi-Fi 5 and not Wi-Fi 7... Or at least Wi-Fi 6. But I don't think it's very bad though

Well the leaks do usually start around 2-3 years before it's out so this isn't weird.

I was just expecting it later than Holiday 2027... But it seems like this thing is out before 2029 for sure. And it seems like it's out Holiday 2027 so far.

But yeah lol it's been nearly 5 years since the PS5 came out and well this generation isn't many years from ending so let's enjoy its remaining years with games like Lost Soul Aside, Ghost of Yotei, GTA VI, Wolverine, the ND game (I forgot its name lol) and what else is coming before November 2027

Oh and that handheld also coming in Holiday 2027 (So far) is nice too!

Aha, I see. Thanks a lot for your reply man. I just want the ability to play my PS5 games portably at home if the tv is occupied for example, so it might be enough for me right now. Got to hold one about a week ago and it’s really comfortable. My only worry is whether it’ll have significant input lag and general lag since it’s just streaming the games remotely.

I hope so... The gameplay although it was just a very small snippet of it is looking kind of nice tbh

@Chilla Well I see that some people on X do like it... So you might like it as well but I would say get it on sale if you feel like you gotta get one because it's alright but nothing mind-blowing. Well the latency and stuff like that isn't bad but you might sometimes notice it though... But the PS Portal is still good though

Unfortunately performance is based on a few different factors (internet speed, type of router, whether ps5 is hardwired, and general network shenanigans) so it’s hard to say exactly. When it works as intended it’s a dream tho, negligible lag when I use it around the house
