I just hopped on the Sony pony this week. I bought a PS5 a few days ago and man I'm shocked at how good PS Remote Play is. I tried remote playing on my Mac computer screen while I was working and it was very responsive and looked good and it lets me play all of my games, not just a few. With Xbox and Nvidia Geforce I get lots of lag and the games I can play are very limited. Glad I don't have to deal with that now. I've always wanted the ability to play my console games on my computer screen if the TV is taken or if I'm not near the TV.

PS Remote play is very good especially if you use LAN. I basically got no issues when I was in Japan from my PS4 when I left. Never been that far with my PS5 but it works great on there too. I should test that out soon.

The PlayStation Portal is nice to have too if you're really into the whole "Remote Play" thing... Though I would personally wait for the next real portable console/handheld from Sony which I do imagine will be dropping in the next 2-3 years... But what's out right now whether it's via the PlayStation Portal, a PC or a Mac is good enough so far though. But I am glad to hear that it's working for you and that you're happy about it!
