Announcement and release in the same year for a PS Studios game would be unprecedented no?
Any new games announced this year probably won’t be ready till 2025 and beyond.

Like in 2020 when the ps5 dropped in Nov 2020 didn’t those launch games get announced that year?

Demon souls remake was a ps studios game and it was announced jun 2020 and launched Nov 2020. Same with Sackboy which is published by SIE.

That’s a brand-new platform launch/the start of a new generation though, so I don’t think that scenario is comparable to mid-gen refreshes.

Maybe Concord will be propped up as a showstopper for PS5 Pro’s technical capabilities, while the other SIE studios are busy getting their games ready for 2025.

If they want to get the ball rolling for PS5 Pro & whatever new killer app announced for it then they should have the presentation conducted asap and not like 2 months before launch like how it was for PS4 Pro.

Just saying it’s not unprecedented, I know the two situations are different. They’re still gonna want new software to push new hardware, there’s no way SIE has zero games coming later this year

Finally pulled the trigger on a PS5, got the slim model, can't wait for it to get here.

Honestly, only reason I waited this long is cause I felt most of the games that interested me ran just fine on my PS4 Pro, but 2023 and 2024 feel like the first years that there are quite a few PS5 exclusives that I don't wanna miss out on and really wanna play (namely BG3 - I know that it's not an exclusive, but I don't have a gaming PC, FF16 & FF7 Rebirth, but I also wanna play Spiderman 2).

Any other cool exclusives coming out this year?

Seems like Death Stranding 2 will be featured in the next State of Play (February probably)
It would be nice if said game releases this year to coincide with PS5 Pro’s launch, but I’m feeling a spring 2025 release window.
