Bad news keep pouring in for PlayStation jeez
It’s definitely not something you wanna be seeing as a recent PS5 owner lmao
all we want is actual 4k60
I’m so tired of picking between 4k30 or a low quality performance mode to get 60fps
Known leaker Tweaktown
Playing any game at 8k but especially something like GTA is the dumbest thing i’ve ever heard, $4,000 computers can’t do it stably why would a sub $900 console be able to

I don't know about that... But it should mean more 4K @ 60 FPS games and some games in 8K @ 30 FPS. But yeah PS6 is what is expected to do what a console gamer has been waiting for since 2020 at least.

Not even mentioning that almost nobody has an 8k screen

A very few games can maybe do it... And yes I don't see it been more than a VERY few games doing it and I don't think it will be the very demanding games like GTA VI for example.
And I don't think it'll be above 8K @ 30 FPS plus a lot of stuff will be toned down. I don't think the whole 8K thing will be more widespread until the PS6 is out... But I do see the upcoming AMD/Nvidia GPU's been able to do it before 2028 though

I don’t think 8k will ever catch on like 4k did, there’s only so far you can go with resolution before you get diminishing returns.

I don't even think a 32" or above monitor will be enough as that's what 4K is made for if we're talking monitors though... I think 8K needs something like 42" or something bigger tbh. But I do game on a TV screen though so it been 65" should be good enough for 8K gaming, movies etc.

I bet Sony will release a bunch of 8k displays in late 2024/2025
Also the ps5 pro will probably be outputting 4k and then using dlss or something to upscale to 8k
Nintendo is about to do the same thing with their next console, it will output like at 1080p and then dlss to 4k

Upscaling could definitely be one way they do it, I don’t think it would ever make sense to render something at a native 8k. The tv prices are probably going to be insane for the first 3-5 years though.
Nice for those in China tbh
They actually won, US only gets 100 oled steam decks

Word... I wonder if that will be done with the PS5 Pro during next year's The Game Awards though

Yeah Sony already has a few 8k TVs and they’re 5k+ I think
By 2025 the (somewhat) more affordable ones will be coming
It ain’t perfect, but being able to play the PlayStation from your phone is pretty cool
Psn servers down or something cuz I can’t download anything. Trying to get this re4 vr mode
