First time u install the disc drive you need to be connected online to validate it, should work as usual after that

best game to try while downloading your first

i bought a new one from a store....& then returned it with the stick drift controller in it

or i can get the new one, and then give the old one with the stick drift for warranty repairs instead of the new one
