It’s not just about MLB. If they do it with this game who says they won’t do with other games? Their entire business strategy and approach to next gen so far has been pathetic and this is coming from a lifelong playstation fan who has never owned an Xbox.

I don’t see how you could argue their business strategy and approach to next gen has been pathetic

In terms of next gen they have done almost everything right except storage on ps5 pretty mucy

Now In terms of backwards comparability and legacy software their approach has been horrible

Sonys approach to backwards compatibility exactly why I put Microsoft ahead of them right now. Neither consoles have any next gen games or gonna have any for a while. Seems like Microsoft only one aware of this and putting in the effort to upgrade older games so they play even better than before. Meanwhile PS5 still have bugs that were present since release. I don't understand the "Xbox has no games" mentality right now, we have like 2 ps5 games lol. When you done with them you gonna go right back to playing ps4 games.

Niggas in this thread said they aint touched their ps5 in months a few pages back, but "we have more games" ait then

Microsoft’s backwards compatibility is a result of 5 years of investing and infrastructure being built for backwards comparability. Sony will get there eventually I personally think

We have 3 ps5 games that are all 8/10 minimum tho. Demon’s Souls is incredible even if it’s a port

I doubt anyone ITT has beat Demon’s Souls, Spider-Man, and Sackboy

Most console launches do not have a Demon’s Souls let alone a Spider-Man too even if it’s short

All I take from your first paragraph was that Microsoft was better prepared for this gen than Sony was

I beat Demons Souls already; thought it was mid. Spiderman doesn't interest me and im not gonna pretend to care about Sackboy

The backwards compatibility features Xbox has just way more interesting than the 3 ps5 games that a lot of people arent even gonna play, I kinda think backwards compatibility more important than launch titles at this point, its not like the backlog gamers still have from the ps4 is going to disappear as soon as they get the ps5. They gonna go right back to those games after they done with the launch titles(assuming they even play 1 of them) and Microsoft still actively supporting titles from last gen to this day is more than what Sony has ever done so far this gen. Not gonna get into gamepass cause I dont care about that s*** but thats there too.

I'm sure Sony gonna come back with some crazy s*** but the start of this gen has been slow for them

Sonys lack of communication in addressing some of the issues that players are still having with their PS5s hasn't been a good look either

idk i think you have to think about it this way: Microsoft instantly lost last gen and didnt have many big games like Sony. They instead focused on creating gamepass and backwards compatibility to win back consumers and create a different lane. Microsoft basically has unlimited money they can just toss at stuff like backwards compatibility but Sony has to be a lot more deliberate bc an Xbox One generation for Sony could literally kill the company

Microsoft is for sure reaping the benefits rn and making Sony look foolish for not having some type of backwards compatibility/gamepass level service but Xbox One was pretty much a joke all of last gen which is why many people just got a PS5 this gen or plan to instead of Xbox

Now its literally the reverse. Sony is going to try and invest in backwards compatibility and potentially upgrading PSNow to become more of a gamepass competitor while Microsoft has acquired many studios and is getting games on track

everything RN is just a result of past actions and the roles have flipped. Its honestly a great thing for the industry bc we have options and competition rn

Jim Ryan is f***ing garbage though and Sony is dropping the f*** out of the ball rn with hardware. Games could be more but s*** bro we just got games like Ghost of Tshushima and Last Of Us 2 VERY recently like they arent PS5 games but they easily couldve just slotted them to PS5 if they wanted but they didint they wanted to give PS4 users 2 last huge games

TLDR: Roles Reversed. Microsoft has $. Jim Ryan ass. Sony clowning RN.

I would just like to see some more work actually being put into backwards compatibility. I know what you're saying but Sonys actions just aren't reflecting that push into enhancing backwards compatibility right now which is worrying.

You right bout the competion tho, feel like Sony pretty much not having competition for years has made them lazy lol, kinda glad to see em start off this gen lackin tbh, maybe these niggas will actually start putting in some effort

sony would have released Horizon 2, God of War 2, Gran Turismo 7 and FF 16 (as console launch exclusive) before 2022 (in a covid free world) and some mfs talking about how sony fumbled this gen

    Sony is stronger than ever

Not a bad game but honestly after playing Bloodborne and Sekiro coming back and playing their first one was kinda underwhelming.
