My living room/home theater setup is finally complete

just copped for $250 open box (and seemingly unused) from Best Buy and this was the move

Their refurbished B stock deals are the move. Got my beam back in 2022 for like $180 and I haven’t seen a better deal since. My whole 5.1 setup (beam, sub mini, 2 Ones) cost me less than an arc I’m pretty sure

Would you get a Sonos Era 300 or HomePod 2? Mainly going to be connecting from my phone to play some music

Is the Sonos Beam Gen 2 worth it? I need a new soundbar. But I'm kinda clueless.

I dont know about a larger sonos home system, I just want a good option for a soundbar. I dont mind paying the price. I just want to know if it's good(You mostly pay for the brand anyway). I've been thinking about a subwoofer also, but not totally certain on it yet

Bought an arc for $200 from an estate sale. Now I need to slowly find other pieces for my bootleg theatre set up lmao

I have a first gen beam (which I don’t think is too much different from gen2) and I have no complaints.

I’ve enjoyed being able to slowly add surrounds and a sub over time and not have to worry about wiring or anything

So I think you’ll be happy with it but I also feel like with what I know now I could get a better quality system for the amount I spent

But the convenience is certainly there and with the exception of when Sonos breaks their app for no reason, it’s pretty much set it and forget it.

I'll go with the beam gen 2.

Then I can add a subwoofer later if needed. I just want it to be easy and convenient.

What about beam gen 1 vs gen 2?

Gen 1s are going used around me (Canada) for like $250 where as new Gen 2 is upwards of $600

Worth going to Gen 2? Would like to also use it as a speaker for house parties etc rn I just use google home lmfao

I’ve only used gen1 but I don’t think gen2 is worth more than double. I think it can do Dolby atmos but in actuality it barely sounds better than gen1 outside of maybe dialog

Worth looking into it yourself though I did my research like 3 years ago
