always thought kiss was a truly awful awful song

now THATS a hot take. I get it as a prince fan he's for sure ended up making more ambitious projects and bigger artistic statements that got overlooked. Purple Rain for the most part is a straight forward record (at least by prince standards) just slapper after slapper but that's honestly one of the reasons it holds up well for me.

Its probably one of the few records of his that doesn't lose the casual listener at some point. still up there for me as one of his best for me personally but i get it.

always thought the noir aesthetic and the clean suits/hair looked way more badass and fresh than the typical 80s prince look

wow damn. Kiss just too classic for me. Honestly Im a little hit or miss with Parade if im being 100% real (nothing I hate tho).

I hated when doves cry growing purely because it was overplayed as s*** by my parents lol but I grew to love it when I started to discover prince for myself.

I agree with the parade opinion, out of all the revolution albums/sessions it's the one where I'm most like ehhhh, sometimes it snows, boys and girls, mountains are spectacular though

that's crazy to me that anyone could dislike when doves cry but I understand why, some of my kiss distaste is purely because it's one of the most played prince songs that I hear in regular life

wendy & lisa did more for prince than any other partners/bandmates/colleagues
