You have a bad understanding. It's not 38 bil a year, it's 38 bil over the course of a decade. And it's to aid their military as we have always had direct ties with them. While yes allocating those funds somewhere else would be beneficial, the US has the highest military budget in the world. That said, of course they want to assure that their allies stay strong as well, that's the whole point of an allegiance. US can have the highest military budget ever, but if you aren't also making sure you're allies are strengthened you're going to struggle in war. Especially since the US always has troops over there.

They're in the middle of several warring factions, keeping your allies military strong is always within direct benefit of you, and it's not as if the US doesn't get momentary gain from it's dealings with Israel either. Overall it's a very tricky subject, but the money is not just for s***s and giggles.

And of course I'm going to call out you saying a US president is going to go full Hitler. Hitler is not someone ANYONE should be compared to, let alone the president of your country. And if you are going to make the comparison you can't act like that's a positive or something that doesn't warrant concern.
