The quote from him that parents shouldnt be involved in education probably single handedly is gonna be remembered as one of the pivots that completely destroyed Democrats. If it was just a one off comment i don't think it would be a big deal but this exploded to the level that mainstream media were running editorials about why parents shouldnt be allowed near their kids education or curricilum and the sentiment was echoed by congress people. 3 arbitrary cultural pivots become widely disagreeable due to increasing removal from material reality
4 opposition does absolutely nothing upon election except not further arbitrary culture war issue due to how easy it is to handle things that have no real material basis
5 gain immediate credit for solving the problem
