wanna cop the 4090 but gotta wait until ATX 3.0 PSUs come out from a good manufacturer like seasonic
those adapters gonna look hideous
the 4080 12GB was way too close to the 30 series cards, they still have plenty left.. Nvidia is playing games with us to sell the left over 30 series cards
like I said weeks ago it would be hard to find and now it's just "unlaunched" lol
I feel Nvidia will launch it as a 4070ti to compete with the RX 7900 next month
Nvidia definitely has a 4080ti for that giant gap but are saving it, it won't come out unless AMDs RX 7900XT is better than the 4080
otherwise they'll just keep the 4090 as the king
I just swapped cases and got a new PSU last night
My motherboard is cool but I hate how it has those little design blocks that make it hard for my fingers to squeeze into tight spots
Like damn 🐕 just give me a good one thats plain jane with no fuss
also i accidentally put a screw w/ a spacer in one of the holes so i had to get that out so that was fun
I might end up getting a new GPU when prices tank after Nvidia/AMD start dropping their new mid-tier cards and everyone panic sells
yeah maybe 8k 100hz on the 5090
Maybe yeah... And if there's a RTX 5090 Ti so do I imagine it going up to 120-144 Hz
Best GPU and CPU to build around for gaming with a £2k budget?
An Intel i9 12900K or i9 12900KS (Or i7 12900K or i7 12900KS) CPU and either a RTX 3080 or RTX 3080 Ti Nvidia GPU

2k for the whole system bro not just the gpu and cpu.

you can get a used 3080 for $600 now on US eBay
buy a new Ryzen 5800x3D and call it a day
motherboard for $99, PSU for $60, RAM for $80, case for $60
would be well under $2k but I'm sure the price in pounds is much worse lol

6800 xt seems like a better choice unless you want to turn up RT

How safe is it to buy used gpus? Not sure I wanna buy tech for +$600 that could be defect within a year.

yeah a 6800, 6800xt or 6900xt would work well
older games that aren’t as popular usually run better on Nvidia also besides Ray Tracing & DLSS2 but AMD drivers have gotten better over the last few years
I’ve seen new 6900xt for $660 and it beats the 3080 in most games, 6800 is just a tad slower and you can find them new for $500
Nvidia cards usually go faster in 4k while AMD does better at 1440/1080
Shared Access Memory works better on AMD cards, you can usually get 10% better performance using an AMD Ryzen 5000 RX 6000 combo
crazy new GPU prices are down 65%+ from earlier this year

I’ve bought many used GPUs and never had an issue but you can find new rtx 3080 for $730 on newegg also now if you’re worried

looks a lot more compact
Gamers are morons when it comes to hardware standards, people really think Displayport 1.4 is limiting the 4090 when it can do 4k 240hz
there aren't even displays that exist with higher bandwidth, the 4090 is fast but I doubt you'd ever get 4k 360hz in many games
it's like when Gamers thought LG OLEDs only supporting 4k 120hz at 10bit color instead of 12bit color was an issue when the display can't even show 12bit colors 🙄 moot
a lot of it also is the fault of gaming websites making the headlines seem like it's a big issue for more clicks
looks cool needs more work tho that latency is a big hit, like yeah it looks smoother but you want it to be responsive DLSS2 seems better at the moment
Am I tripping or isn't this a feature on most TVs already? This is basically motion smoothing?
What a scam lol

god im conflicted whether to buy RDNA2 high-end right now or after november 3rd
part of me wants to get a 3070 ti/3080 but that just sounds stupid with its low amount of vram

I know... But you can find them for a cheap price. I'll try to put a whole custom PC for you for 2K this week

May have to use a shop from the uk to test this, cause i know prices crazy for some components over there.
And int shipping also a exyra price tag if they order parts from elsewhere as well

Yeah the shipping thing makes it even worse... Good thing that Black Friday/Cyber Monday is next month

Truuuuu, tryna decide if i upgrade gpu then, but i really dont need a upgrade currently, id just be going from low end 1080p card to a high end 1080p one anyways

You might find something even better by then tbh
The jump for me when I've saved enough money to build a new PC will be from a 1080p GPU to a 2160p GPU or even 4320p one unless the price for that GPU I want is too much so will one been able to do 2160p be more than enough for me until later on when it's possible for me
