Can’t wait to cop the 3090, going to be my first pc build. It’s especially exciting for my machine learning research due to the number of tensor cores + every ounce of computing power can be used when batch training on images. Fully utilizing it through mixed point precision can be a b**** though.
I'm getting the 3080. This will last me at least a few years.
How often does NVidia release new GPUs? Annually?
RTX 3090
SLI (NV Link)
September 24th 2020
$1500
GIMME GIMME GIMME!!!
BUT... Imma wait for the OC version of it or whatever comes after the release of it whether it's in 2020 or some time in 2021
@Teal_ No not completely new ones like the RTX 2080 or RTX 3080. But more like the main one and then a Ti or Super/OC version of it in like 1 year later and then 2 years later the new series of GPU's. So the RTX 4080/4090 should be out some time in September 2022.

Then we good until 2022!
If you get the OC version, which is the superior version, then you're gonna have to wait until at least mid 2021, right ? Do you think you'll be able to make it? lol

Possibly lol... I got the patience and will have to save for it plus the whole pandemic thing going on right now is one of the main reasons why even if the OC version of the RTX 3090 got released this year so will I have to wait until I can get one anyway. But after I've built my first PC and got all of the parts I want so am I good until mid 2023 at least!

"To maximize overclocking headroom and system stability for every PC build, we opted to use three eight-pin PCIe auxiliary connectors on the custom ROG Strix PCB. This approach means that the card will satisfy all of its power needs by drawing directly from the PSU, reducing demands from the ATX12V and auxiliary power connectors on the motherboard. Modern high-wattage PSUs have plenty of eight-pin PCI connectors to spare, and their active cooling ensures clean, stable power across a wide range of operating conditions."
Alright I do now see the word "OC" but I think there's something worth it coming from Nvidia and ASUS, MSI etc. in 2021 and therefore so as dope as what Nvidia and their partners has done so are they working on something even better and should also solve some of the issues the upcoming GPU's might have. But okay they're early with it this time around which is surprising but very good to see! But regardless so am I waiting until some time in 2021 to get the RTX 3090 and other PC parts.
So I have to wait and see if the "Super" or "Ti" version of the RTX 3090 (If they do even make one) is worth it and then decide if I want the OC version of the RTX 3090 or not.
Breaking news...
Yeah imma wait for sure then... I want to see if they'll do anything to the RTX 3090 or not.

How often does NVidia release new GPUs? Annually?
it will totally depend how well AMD performs
if they dethrone a bunch of their lineup Nvidia will definitely put out a refresh quickly
and if RDNA 3 comes out end of next year and is 50% better again Nvidia will drop a bunch of new GPUs again
historical Nvidia has always held back unless AMD had better GPUs in the high end than they would go all out

It'll probably be 20 GB's like what @Oblivion said

yeah saw the TI leak I think they have the TI models ready to go for Big Navi
they probably will do a 32GB 3090 if AMD did 32GB for their top card but honestly I don't really need more than 24GB of VRAM anytime soon lol
20GB 3080Ti
yup I'd guess 20GB 3080Ti that is basically just a 3080 with maybe 5%-10% more Cuda Cores

I wouldn't mind one that's 32 GB's or more. Plus some other stuff as well like that it has so many more good things that it makes me want to get it and not the one that came this year
Btw this is the one or whatever the 2021 version of it will be that I'll be getting...
ASUS GeForce RTX 3090 ROG Strix OC

Also guys check this out...

4k max settings 150fps , high setting finna be 200+
3080 definitely the best card in the line up easy
Rumors saying 3070ti is coming no 3080 ti, leaks show there is a 20GB 3080 model its the same as current 3080 just comes with more ram which will be released depending on how competitive AMD is

Save some more money and just get the RTX 3070 or wait for the RTX 3070 Ti/Super. Or the OC version of the RTX 3070 if they do make one. Then again... That depends on the price.
How much does that MSI RTX 2060 Super Ventus GP OC cost?
But if you can't wait and you want one before November 2020 then get this one from MSI...

Which is the MSI RTX 3070 VENTUS 3X OC.

Nah, nah, I don't want that top tier s*** cuz I ain't got the money like dat.
I'm asking cuz that's my budget limit (the 2070S) and I was just wondering if that model is cool or not cuz I found a sweat deal

if you can wait a few months for the 3060 that would probably be near the same price and a lot faster (rtx 2080 tier) but that's probably not coming till November I'd imagine
hell used GPUs are about to be amazing deals also once people wanna replace their 2070 supers and 2080s
but yeah if you need a GPU now that's not a bad GPU, you'll definitely enjoy it

Thank you all for replies but I just caught an even better deal ... almost same price but 2070 super gaming x so yeah
