this seems fair to me. I think Mario Kart World will probably be improved into a 10 out of 10 game but at launch i think 8.5 out of 10 is fair.

for those that dont know, Mario Kart 8 got a lot of post-release tweaks and improvements (not just DLC, actual improvements based on feedback). I expect the same will happen here. Nintendo is going to support the hell out of this thing.

Pretty much what I think about MK World so far.

They need to tweak some small things and bring back some features that MK8 had. Overall it's going to be another classic Mario Kart game in 2-3 years when they put out multiple updates and DLCs

Also I think they left out some things like 200cc for now on purpose because they want to create more hype with future free updates

I found this video yesterday and it makes sense. They will give us a lot of free updates especially for knockout tour. They have over 200 routes

To some extent yeah, but being a Nintendo fan I always knew I was gonna get it sooner or later. I just wasn't in a rush to get it right away due to the lack of interesting first party games at launch and the higher pricing in my country. I know that the games will come in time, and when they announced Splatoon Raiders yesterday it gave me a lil' itch

played mkw for an hour and a half on handheld mode and it didnt feel cumbersome at all. they really nailed the redesign on this, it has the right amount of heft + the joycons actually feel viable this time around

There is a battery life indicator issue FYI. Not saying this affected u but some ppl were saying they’d get to 1% but the battery would last another hour
