One thing i wonder is how they'll manager battery life. Ive read around that this leak points to the use of a samsung 8nm chip which apparently isnt efficient at all, so im worried about battery life. Im sure Nintendo has thought thoroughly about it since battery life always comes first for them, but that could mean they downclock the console too much.

On a positive note tho, if thats the node this system shouldnt be that expensive!

I hope we get to play, possibly without any upgrade plan, the botw remaster they showed off at Gamescom to devs in 2023. Playing botw in original hardware at 4k 60fps and no loading screens would be amazing.

Bruh. Accessory manufacturer GENKI will be at CES 2025 next week on Tuesday, January 7th to introduce some of their accessories and Switch 2 info they have. I hope this means that Nintendo are gearing up for something next week as well, but considering how everybody has been wrong about the reveal timing so far, I know better than to get too excited before Nintendo themselves speak up.

And now I also find out that Nvidia will have a Keynote presentation the day before (January 6th) Knowing Nintendo, all of these potential "signs" may not mean a darn thing and the actual reveal may be several weeks away, but still worth keeping an eye out.

They're not official partners, they dont know anything. They'll probably use the leaked cad files as placeholders. Probably namedropped switch 2 for attention. Dont want to ruin the party but imo its better to be skeptical than possibly ending up disappointed

Yeah, I've been taking everything with a handful of salt (previously only a grain of salt) since the Xenoblade X announcement That was the final nail in the coffin for me in terms of getting my hopes up based on rumours and speculation.

Every reveal date rumour or claim has been wrong so far and every supposed "sign" that has pointed towards a potential reveal has been wrong as well so keep your salt shakers close until Nintendo themselves wake up from their slumber and announce it.

One dope feature I would like to see for the Switch 2 Pro Controller (but that I'm definitely not expecting) is the ability to detach the sides of the Pro Controller (just like you can detach the JoyCon from the tablet) and attach the Pro Controller grip to the Switch 2 tablet. That way you can get the ergonomics, buttons and joysticks of the Pro Controller and use them in handheld mode (kind of like the PS Portal which has the Dualsense controller grips attached to the tablet).

We're almost there anyway, at most its a 88 day wait, we've gone years without anything, and we're slowly getting the whole damn thing leaked too

Kit & Krysta who used to work for Nintendo of America a few years ago believe that (contrary to a rumour about a potential reveal in the coming week or January 8th to be specific) it is highly unlikely that the Switch 2 would be revealed next week while CES 2025 is going on cus there'll be too many electronics/gaming companies competing for attention during that week (youtube.com/watch?v=h_JUt6rBTYc)

Last time they shot down a Switch 2 reveal rumour was in October and they ended up being correct there (rumours were claiming a Switch 2 reveal some day in October but instead we got Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition announced on that day).

With this brought to my attention I now find it highly unlikely that next week is the week. I personally won't be expecting the reveal until the third week of January (20th or later), sometime after Donkey Kong drops.

Their next investor meeting is on February 4th. I think everybody would be shocked if they would pull up a month before their own deadline without having announced it, so my guess/hope is that it'll be revealed by then.

Yeah that’s what I’ve seen too! That apparently Devs are extremely happy with what the Switch 2 is capable of! That gets me so damn excited. I really want more / bigger AAA games to play on the Switch 2!

yea like imo the minimum is steam deck and I can easily see Nintendo matching this for this new gen. Steam Deck plays God of War and s***. I don't know what people expect from a battery powered machine. Plus IMO most Nintendo games actually look pretty damn good artistically. I play on a 4K so I can see the roughness in some games and it's worse than others. The biggest offender is performance.

They've squeezed Switch 1 so hard. Animal Crossing is suprisingly graphically demanding if anyone that actually plays it would know. I would say it's a top 5 game in graphics BUT it runs like hot doo doo when you have lots of items on the island.

For the type of games Nintendo makes just that bit more power will go a long way for performance I hope.

Splatoon at 60fps and doing the things it does as well is nice so I can't wait to see what they do for the next game.

This is a good video for expectation management. It obviously doesnt account for the 12gbs of ram and the devs own optimization that console games get. And going by the impressive work we've gotten on switch with doom 2016 and eternal, the witcher 3, kingdom come deliverance and others, plus a more modern gpu and dlss, i expect a lot of great ports. Not best versions obviously, but perfectly fine versions for a battery powered console.
Of course we can only Imagine what Nintendo's own studios are giving us after releasing pikmin 4, luigi's mansion 3, tears of the kingdom, mario odyssey and paper mario the origami king on a 2015 tablet that was essentially a modern xbox 360 pro.
