The Switch is objectively Nintendo’s peak. It was a perfect storm for the console so I mean yeah I doubt Nintendo will be able to replicate the success of the Switch for Switch 2… and that’s fine. To expect Nintendo to have lightning strike twice would be unrealistic

It was expensive and had no games. They dropped the price permanently within a few months. It was that bad.

Switch 2 is poised to be a premium product and if Nintendo comes out with a good launch lineup I think it'll do just as well. Prime 4 and Mario Kart 9 at launch would be game over.

i'm a switch stan but i will never get the obsession with that switch vs. ps2 race

it's just an unfair one imo, the switch is cheating by being a hybrid console, the handheld aspect makes it way more accessible than pure home consoles and (nintendo) handhelds usually sell well

especially with Switch Lite sales being included in the total number lmao

If you want to see It that way, ps2 was cheating by having a lot more price drops and being also the cheapest DVD player in the market at the time. Switch still doesnt have an official price drop and has a lot more competition. Itd be impressive more than anything, and its cool to see something break records

If anything, the PS2 cheated. At the time, it was one of the cheapest “DVD players” so a lot just bought to have that and playing video games was a bonus. Trust me, I lived through that Gen and the PS2 was 1000% my DVD player that I used for so long lol

It was actually tougher for Switch to get where it’s at cus it was ONLY a video game machine. No one uses the Switch to stream on Hulu or YouTube lol

PS5 and Xbox Series are media machines, Switch is ONLY video games. People buying your console for just video games is objectively better

It sold a lot but it was superficial. People bought it but played Wii Sports then put it in the closet and never touch it. It was very trendy and didn’t sell as much software as it should of

The Switch is not only selling consoles, but selling GAMES. People are buying multiples of games. They aren’t buying one game and putting their Switch in a drawer somewhere

I’ve seen so many people I wouldn’t have ever expected to play video games, buy the Switch and post on social media different and multiples of games they’re buying and playing

i lived through that gen too but i was mostly just playing the s*** out of every ratchet & clank and budokai tenkaichi on my ps2
