    I hear you

Yeah I noticed matchmaking is long for ranked battles and salmon run.

I agree the gameplay is so fun. I normally sell my games but this one is staying in my rotation until the next one

    Red Joy-Con comparison:
Neon Red/Mario Red (2017)/Mario Red & Blue Edition (2021)/Mario Red OLED Edition (2023)

The red Joy-Con released in 2021 and 2023 actually have a drastically different kind of red compared to the ones that came in a bundle with Odyssey back in 2017
I have the red Joy-Con from 2017 and they both drift
But after seeing this photo, guess I’m NEVER sending them in for repair lmao

I definitely think MP4 is a Switch 2 launch year game. Definitely not a launch title but definitely within the calendar year

So like fall 2024 — fall 2025 is when it’ll probably come out IMO

I believe Nintendo sold the Mario Red controllers from 2017 separately (as a pair) in Japan
They also sold them with refurbished Switch units in North America in 2018.
S*** looks so sleek with the blue Joy-Con attached to a Switch OLED

The stick on my left white Joy-Con (that came with Switch OLED) has worn down a bit, surprisingly; I guess from playing too much Smash? Lmao

I’m treating the situation as an incentive to go and cop the Pastel Purple & Green Joy-Con

I’m team "it’s still a Switch 1 title (and an exclusive one at that)"
Still exclusive to Switch 1 but enhanced when played on Switch 2
    2024 release PLEASE

Nice, who do you main in Smash?

Bruh I love Zelda too and TOTK isn’t hitting like I thought it would. I’m still early in the game though. I guess I prefer the traditional formula (I skipped BOTW just cus I never got around to playing it).

TOTK gets better the further you get in it. I loved BOTW but the beginning of kingdom felt like such a slog

I reckon you won’t have to wait until spring ‘24 (March more specifically according to rumours) for official NS2 news.
I’d be shocked if it isn’t backwards compatible, especially since Nintendo has always supported that feature (understandably Wii U -> Switch backwards compatibility would’ve been too complicated).

I hope so as it'll influence my decision on what to get and not get during 2024. But I really want to play Nintendo games again so this is something I am really looking forward to and if the Nintendo Switch 2 has BC so is that the icing on the cake for me as it'll save me money and time so I do really hope Nintendo won't make the bad decision of making the Nintendo Switch 2 not to be able to play digital or physical Nintendo Switch games.

I hope at least so will it be able to play the digital version of the Nintendo Switch games but since Nintendo Switch owners do buy a lot of physical copies of their Nintendo Switch games so should Nintendo basically do the right thing and make it possible both for digital and physical games. But yeah all of that should be revealed within the first half of 2024 hopefully!

New previews for Mario Wonder seem positive
The first new 2D Mario installment since 2012 and they’re coming out the gate swingin’
WarioWare previews are looking up too

The game lineup was crazy this year, Zelda, pikmin, and super Mario bros are all rare releases in any year. All 3 at once is wild, 2023 is really the perfect sendoff for the switch. And it’ll still continue to sell well for years after the switch 2 is out, I bet

Will we ever see the mainline Pokémon games on NSO???

Nintendo and Game Freak face a peculiar conundrum in this situation. They’re old Game Boy games published by Nintendo so adding them to the service should be a no-brainer right? Especially when they’re highly likely to cause subscription numbers to go way up.

I think there’s a couple of factors that’s preventing them from doing the obvious:
    1. PKMN games have always been priced at a premium compared to other games (Nintendo included); higher price tags and very rare to go on sale. Paying only $20 for a year’s worth of access to classic addictive RPGs with ONLINE connectivity on top of that probably seems too low for them. One solution to this could be to raise the price by like $10 (only the regular NSO plans, not the Expansion Pack); of course there’s gonna be backlash over this, as seen with the recent Game Pass and PS Plus price hikes (personally I’d rather they not raise the price obviously).

    2. Their NSO inclusions could cannibalize the sales of the current more-costly-to-develop PKMN products (Scarlet, Violet, the DLCs, Gen 4 remakes, etc.). Not just sales but active users too, in terms of online functionality. The old games will probably always be perceived as superior to the new ones. And paying for NSO is cheaper than buying full-priced games, which goes without saying.

    Closing thoughts:
It’s so unfortunate that we may never see them on the service. Imagine playing Pokémon Blue on Switch and being able to transfer your mons to Pokémon Stadium simply via the console’s save file

While we love the old games and all that, I definitely feel like we need new games in those regions. This video explains it perfectly

We need new games in those regions. Not just remakes over and over. Let’s have a reimagined and new take in the Kanto or Johto region

I think that’s why Legends Arceus was so amazing to me. A fresh new take on a region we loved
