Princess PEAK: Showtime! GOTY 2024

^Not to rain on your parade, I expected more from the Princess Peach game.. (lmao I really claimed it’d be a day-1 cop without knowing much about it).

The whole gimmick of the game is that Peach can do many different jobs?
The snippets of gameplay of the jobs in action didn’t look particularly exciting..
Need to see more

But in all seriousness, they teased “power-ups” in the first teaser like they were doing something truly new.. It ended being nothing much in the end. I’d be surprised if the actual gameplay isn’t as shallow as it looks.

Aight so which game from the recent Direct is everyone copping?

Personally I’m copping Among Us, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe - Booster Course Pass, and F-Zero 99

Unicorn Overlord, SMRPG, Princess Peach Showtime, Eiyuden Chronicle and SaGa EB are all on the list but we'll see what i actually get around to

Although I’m a bit surprised at the lack of Paper Mario 😅 unless you’ve played it already.

Unicorn Overlord was a pleasant announcement! I’ll have to see more of the gameplay, but that game’s on my list as well (probably gonna cop on Xbox, same with Eiyuden Chronicle).

11 games for me. Solid Direct for a console near the end of its life cycle

Also, I was watching a live reaction video rn of the Direct and it was pointed out that Luigi’s Mansion is renamed

Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon is the name America’s version got and everywhere else is Luigi’s Mansion 2

But this new version is “Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD”. Pretty interesting they decided to change it

I wonder why

For the next Smash Bros game, we need Peach’s move set completely changed to all these outfit changes / moves

-probably gonna cop Paper Mario on day 1 even if it’s full-priced to show Nintendo that people want more of that kind of game (and to help increase the titular character’s chances of joining Smash lol)
-thrilled to see Another Code coming back from the dead but lowkey the original games look kinda better than the remakes Still gonna cop day 1 to show support
-WarioWare: Move It! has no right of looking this good (only saying this cus Get It Together! didn’t impress me much). The actual sequel to Smooth Moves, a Wii classic, has my attention.

Probably cus of Luigi’s Mansion 3
I think it’s to help make it more easily understandable that it’s the predecessor to that game
They did something similar with Pikmin 1 on Switch
Speaking of which, I want the physical of Pikmin 1+2 as well

Totally, even if most thought the Direct was mediocre, there’s still a decent amount of games I’m interested in.

The Direct would’ve been way better if it closed with Prime 4 (and Paper Mario used as the intro), but they may be saving that for the February 2024 Direct (possibly the last Direct before Switch 2 is unveiled).

Best thing about the direct is it confirms we getting switch 2 next year

The must-cops for me are TTYD, warioware, eiyuden chronicles, Mario rpg great end to the switch

Started playing FZero GX after enjoying 99 so much, amazing game I can picture a new FZero on the next Switch looking absolutey amazing, slap in the 99 gamemode as an online matchmaking option and you got a 10/10 game right there

ive played it when i was younger but never finished (i think it was a rental). nothing against it but im just more excited to play the others since theyll be "newer" experiences for me (never played SMRPG)

Finally watched the Super Mario Bros. Wonder Direct since I needed a little bit more convincing,
and holy s***, they’re actually trying.. for the first time since 2006 (NSMB, if you don’t count Mario Maker)

Imma use game vouchers on it and SMRPG. Fortunately they’re both being released within a span of a month (Oct. 20 -> Nov. 17), so I just have to buy 1 month of NSO to take advantage of the vouchers

Not to mention there’s WarioWare in-between

Yup. This Direct was… fine

Nintendo is 100% laying low rn and saving the big guns for Switch 2. It’s totally obvious and very exciting

Basically the exclusive Nintendo Switch games... That's usually the good stuff! Everything else as in multi-platform games will I get on PS4/PS5 besides the exclusive games there too.

But no I am good lol I don't need F-Zero 99 or any other 3rd party game shown at this Nintendo Direct
