Forgot what video I was watching but saw a comment where they said “this next Nintendo console is either gonna be Switch 2 or Wii U 2”

And it got me thinking of next gen and how easily Nintendo can f*** this up lol

If marketing is weird and it seems too samey to Switch, it could end up like Wii U

But if it’s too different, that could suck cus I think I can speak for most of us that LOVE the Switch form factor. That portability aspect is everything and yes I want a stronger console, but to give up portability for that? idk man

I feel like as long as the base next gen has an OLED screen with the build quality of the OLED with 60FPS on most games with upscaled 4K, that’s all I want.

I just don’t want Nintendo to try too hard to be different and end up with a s***ty console we gotta live with for 5 years

EDIT: oh yeah backwards compatibility with Switch is needed. Would suck to leave behind the Switch library

If the next console got a new mainline mario kart, mainline mario, pokemon, animal crossing, smash and open world Zelda i think its impossible for them to fail. If the Wii U had a Pokemon game it wouldve ended up selling more for example, and also now with switch era growth of animal crossing, Zelda and Mario (thanks also to the movie), people will want to get the console that got all those games cause those are essentials too

For the Kirby fans:

True. It’d be impossible for them to fail with a big launch title like the ones you mentioned

The fact Nintendo has been so slow / quiet with the next gen console does give me hope that they are taking their time with it and will release a worthy successor to the Switch

At this point im assuming they want to start off the next generation with a strong lineup, like they did in 2017.

Not surprising honestly, Nintendo is the only major publisher that actively caters to young girls and women

Yeah I’ve seen so many girls over the girls post they bought one. Kinda crazy the blunders Nintendo is able to break to get people back into video games / new people

I put hundreds of hours in designing my islands. got my moneys worth. dlc is cute. dropped it because other games but I do want to go back to it.

but there are some very shallow and tedious things about it. but if you like designing s*** the game is perfect. some of the islands people make are impressive.
