need BOTW2 in 1440p60fps or bust
handheld can stay 720p60fps
but if the new docked cant run double the handheld resolution then it'll be a Wii U situation again where people are mainly confused just keep buying the OLED model
I mean who’s shocked? I’ve BEEN saying this was 2023 lmao
I ain’t mad tho. We’ve waiting this long, what’s another half a year?

The thing is this new switch could not replace switch oled but be sold alongside it, so the problems they had with wii u marketing wont be present, because the marketing will be clear and even if people misunderstand (although unlikely now that the internet is widely used) they will still buy a switch regardless of the model lol. Iwata mentioned he wanted a console that had a lifespan similar to the iPhone, so multiple iterative models during a long period of time. This new switch could be like the new iphone, its the new best iphone out but previous iphones are still supported for a while. Something like this is happening with next gen right now whether they wanted it or not, and i feel the same will happen with switch. So botw2 would be made for switch in mind but would have significant graphical improvements on the new switch

botw2 in 30fps @ 900p
is a huge fail in 2023

Im sure 90m of those wont care lol, and if they do they'll upgrade to the new one, furukawa has said that many switch users upgraded to oled for example. He also said they dont want to let go of 100m install base anytime soon so the new switch wont be a successor most likely
Time crash is insane… I know it’s not the same as the other abilities because it can only be used once but god damn it melts bosses

Lol no it's not
Nintendo users are, half at least, kids and families
I seriously don't think a 13 year old and his dad care about FPS
This aint the PS5
I'm not saying I don't agree with you in wanting improved performance, but it's Nintendo and I have zero hope and stopped caring about it really. As long as it's a good game, I can glance over the performance issues
I’m not tripping on BOTW 2. I have way too much to play all across the board that I’m in no kind of a rush for it. My brain was already thinking 2023. Would be nice to get Windwaker & TP in the meanwhile this summer/fall

I agree with you that most people won’t mind about the frame rate and resolution, but just wanted to correct something
Most switch players are 20-30 year olds
Kids these days are more into Xbox/PlayStation
Where as young adults are nostalgic for the Nintendo games they played as kids
Teenagers are less likely to be switch players than even 30-40 year olds based on the data Nintendo released

The interesting thing about this is you would think adults 25-30 would be more nostalgic for PlayStation. I’m a 92er (30 in June) and my nostalgia is definitely based around Nintendo since I got my first SNES in 1996. With that being said, I got my first Ps1 I didn’t have to share with my brother in 1997 and while I spent a lot of time on both, I def favored my Ps1 at the time. Even got a launch Ps2. But still, my nostalgia weighs far more in the direction of playing Nintendo stuff. I didn’t have my own N64 until like 2001ish and I have more nostalgia for that than my PlayStation

Interesting, thanks for the info and the data
I guess I was basing my views on the situation here in Europe, or at least in my country
The wii was huge here and it was mostly bought by kids and families and thus Nintendo is seen as more of a kids/family console. While PS or PCs are the grown ups choice for a console (xbox doesn't exist here, it's like 1% of the market, if even that)
Smart of Nintendo to not include Golf right away on SS. That would’ve been the only sport I played tbh.
