Virtual console with like $15 and under games would move units.
No it wouldnt, they actually got data proof with the wii virtual console. Nobody cares about old games besides the most passionate entusiasts, not enough to pay for them at least
Pokemon shills dont represent us!!!
TOTK, a Switch 1 game, shouldn’t have been $70.
That s*** wasn’t even better than BOTW.
So my point is it’s not just PKMN fans

Totk is the most impressive game of last generation...
Theres not a single game before or after it implementing all that and making it work in an open world action adventure. And it was done on a tablet with raw power of a slightly better xbox 360. Its absolutely worth its asking price unless you want to pay pennies for games regardless

Why wasn’t it $60 though? They literally reused the same map.
No online in 2026
There’s always gotta be a f*cking catch with Nintendo I swear to god.
Don’t worry bro, they will probably announce a physical Pokémon Link Cable if you want to battle and trade with your friends

That would be brazy given the fact that FireRed & LeafGreen came with wireless adapters
Not even giving us the true authentic experience

Hey man, there’s gotta be SOME catch. It’s Nintendo
Accept the link cable!!

Suddenly “Gotta catch 'em all” carries a whole new meaning
Xbox imploded themselves this gen, but at least they gave us 4K and 60fps updates FOR FREE
Also a $5 upgrade fee could’ve been easily paid with leftover Gold Points on the eShop, but nah, Nintendo had to take that away from us..
gold points saved me so much money in the long run. We need it back

I just honestly hate subscriptions. I'd prefer a one time purchase, but i guess i am the outlier. They have the games already in the online emulators.
These pokemon games will move though, or maybe not, cuz $30CAD is hilarious.

Because game development doesnt only work that way, there's a lot of work behind the game mechanics too for example, especially of this complexity. Plus a lot more people worked on totk compared to botw.
I get your point and in some cases i agree, but totk is the very last game i'll complain about its asking price.
I think in this case it comes down to the fact you don't like the game as much as i do, which is why i think pricing discussion in general relies too much on personal opinion. To me Metroid dread is worth 60$ but to many here It isnt, while on the opposite end for me gta 6 isnt even worth 30$ unless they really surprise me

Id also prefer to own them which is why i want them to at least add the option, so i agree with you on that

Before today that was the most common take I saw
Pokémon FireRed Version & Pokémon LeafGreen Version from the GameBoy Advance system coming to the Nintendo Switch eShop on February 27 for 20 bucks a pop.
!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k8c_C4vfUMoI know some might be tripping about the price or why they don't release these on NSO instead but I don't have a problem with this specific instance tbh. 20 is fine.
I'm not buying it but this is a great price for people who want it on this hardware.
Reminder that absolutely nothing about this removes your ability to get a rom of it yourself and play the same way we all have been the past 10+ years on your phone, computer, or handheld. If you're doing that, it isn't even for you the same way it's not for me.
But it's nice it's actually available again for less than a couples meal at mcdonalds.
Nintendo wants more people to sub to their s***ty online service and they literally have a home run sitting on their lap (retro Pokémon games), but nah if you want online PKMN then you gotta be content with modern Game Freak slop.
Was gonna post this in the Pokémon thread but I chickened out
i fw fire red the long way childhood classic but we will not be buying
planning a meet up with my friends so we can trade and battle
Tbh this is the main reason im even considering buying these games. I missed out on pokemania, and by the time i had the consoles and games i had nobody to trade pokemon and battle with, and that social aspect always captivated me so it'd be cool to live those moments with actual good games.
FRLG ain’t modern
I was referring to the Switch games.
Alright well that changes the point of that lol.
I don't get calling them slop unless you never played them and only heard about them online still. Not masterpieces but I feel like slop has seriously lost meaning at this point

They ran terribly on Switch and the animations were lazy af.
Also subjectively-speaking, the newer Pokémon designs leave a lot to be desired.

On release? Sure, but they got updates. Also that was only really SV
I'm not really trying to argue or anything but this was always extremely overstated on the internet, and applies to just sv really. Idk how pokemon fans dislike new designs like that at all but that's purely subjective too
I wish y'all would complain about the much bigger issues with them
