Got the switch 2 recently. I’ve legit never played any Nintendo games since the Wii (and the only games I had on that thing was Wii sports resort).

i legit think Splatoon has their best modern gameplay.

It is a online focused game though. So you would need to pay for online.

The online community is there but matchmaking can make it hard for new players to adjust to the skill ceiling.

Still think Splatoon 3 is one of their best and most graphically impressive games.

There is a single player. It's fun but it's a glorified tutorial. Still can take you some time to beat.

Salmon Run is a pretty fun horde mode. It's the best way to learn the game imo.

And keep them motion controls on... the game is just so much better with it

If you're mostly handheld I wouldn't recommend. ..

The new one looks like a real single player experience (Splatoon Raiders). But there really haven't been any details revealed.

I expect a Splatoon 4 though. Unless Raiders has online. Again, not a lot of details rn.

They did release a 4k update for switch 2 for Splat3 so it looks really clean.

If you want something to play now I'm sure you could find a cheap used copy.
