idk if they ever will. they’re probably planning the marketing phase for the next animal crossing, it’s gonna be announced soon likely early 2026 and maybe released in the fall

When they announced more Switch 2 Edition games in the Direct and none of those were what we wanted

I think they’ll save AC for 2027 or beyond since we’re already getting Tomodachi Life and Pokopia that same year.
Plus there’s Splatoon Raiders that’s been announced and usually there are manpower overlaps between the Splatoon & Animal Crossing teams

damn yeah maybe ac announced in 2026 but doesn’t come out that year. They’ve been silent on splatoon raiders so I feel like it’s not coming early 2026, likely late summer or fall

Visuals quality & environmental design look like PS2 era, even though the NS2 Edition cleans things up quite a bit (Switch 1 version literally looks like a Wii game), but previews have been saying the gameplay change is a breath of fresh air for the series.

There are concerns that the all-urban setting won’t provide enough variety to sustain a whole PKMN mainline game however.
