From a competitive standpoint I don’t think things has changed all that much. Since forever in the NBA there’s usually 2-3 real contenders every year.
The thing with basketball is that it’s not as team oriented as the other sports. Before there were super teams....just having on superstar over a team that didn’t was a huge advantage. Teams built like the 04 Pistons is an anomaly.
