imagine knowing what chords you playing
kind of a fundamental rule of music writing bruh
Chord progression is: Em7 (iii) F#m7 (iv) CM7 (I) Bm7 (vii)
Damn, ending on the 7! Now thats atypical
i know scales n how to read a bit of sheet music
like if you asked me to play the iii chord in A minor i would know what to press. but lowkey i unno what i be hitting now since i got my push 2
i dont use my midi keyboard anymore. i just pick a scale on my push and just hit the pads now

I hate it when I see ppl on youtube plugging into the virtual keyboard rack.
Its like the most robotic way of making music, and its way easier to just play a real keyboard

you mean ghost notes? fr I’ve been doing that for a while and I think it’s limiting the f*** out of me. I just don’t really know where to start where I can just go without the ghost notes and utilize my midi keyboard more (which I don’t do enough)

Yeah I was trying to rep the Lydian scale. If you pay attention the C# from the F#m7 makes the 1st interval of key flat (MODULATION). Bm7 is the 5th of E so it makes sense to end it that way, because it goes to E minor in the next bar.
Also another tip for arranging try to not group your chords up so much. So when you do Cmaj7 (CEGB) try to use octaves to your advantage so instead of CEGB OR 1357 TRY 1537. Your playing the three and 7 and octave up

pretty much having all the notes to a scale to follow on your piano roll to stay in key

Very interesting, and yeah what you're talking about is the Neo soul voicings. They do make finger placement much easier but its hard for me to get in that habit of splitting up chords like that when I can just play them all in one hand haha.
