Find your sound by experimenting as much as you can. Try different stuff and listen to different music and take inspiration from what you love and you’ll have your own sound. That’s what i worried about a lot and i didn’t know how to do it but you don’t really look for it or find it you kinda just end up there. I went to trying to make beats like drake at first and now the one thing that i get is that what i make is different than anything else so it’s weird because you don’t want to do what everyone else is doing but you also want to do what everyone else is doing. Just dont follow trends only do what you love most
yeah, i suppose it's a natural progression from
working from your influences more directly and then just working indirectly with what you love from your own work? that's what i notice about all my favourite artists' paths at least
ig the key is don't worry too hard about who u sound like, just focus on whether u like what u make and whether it's accessible to some level

lol Kendrick was a Wayne/Jay Z clone before he became himself

That last part exactly
And yeah you want to bring outside influences that you know are already good because just going off your own music will leave you running around in circles. Nothing new is ever original thought it came from something else that led to that thought to spark. Cant make an iPhone if there wasnt the original phone in the first place
The iPhone is literally the definition of that actually lmao. They took a phone, a camera, a computer, and an ipod and put it in one
nah, says u 'havent provided a valid url' but your cover art shows fine

Thanks bro! I think I only spent a couple days on each of them I forgot how long exactly but I know I worked on the first one longer than I did the second one it might've been a week i think but it was pretty much non stop work but also a lot of time listening to get a feel for it too i always make sure to do that too even if it is a while and a lot of time tweaking everything even the small details
heres the original demos for both of them and then i just built upon them
the type of music i wanna make is pc music
that pop sound
and kids see ghosts type s***
i dont sample like that anymore. I dont want to put up with a headache of the clearance process if I want to put it on streaming services.
Get good at hiding your samples
filter automation and reverse/repitch/chop up/etc your sample
Pad/main melody here is a sample, I'm pretty sure it didn't get cleared.

Shiit whats a mockery of the art form is having someone send you sample loops while you add some drums to it then call yourself a super-producer ( Southside)
Arrangement and sound selection matter more than your sound source.
Maybe that loop would have just sat on a hard drive forever, but since Southside put some drums over it and sent it out to someone it became a record.

music is a collaborative process
