Gotta hear something that inspires me. Been into the early dubstep sound (ie Mala) a lot recently, the sound isn't that complicated but the producers all do an incredible job of creating a vibe throughout a track
You might here something cool in a mix that goes off, and use it as inspiration for a completely different track
Listen to stuff passively while playing videogames, studying, take notes of what you like. When you're ready to make beats you can quickly reference the stuff u enjoyed
