i think the workflow is better and sample manipulation is more intuitive
also session view is lit for getting ideas out there
its not that complicated tbh
imma give it a test run FL kinda trash with samples
i been thinking of switching to ableton from fl what are the perks? s*** looks kinda complicated tbh
I'm a strong advocate of "learn what u have"
I tried to switch to reaper from logic but a couple of things made me not switch (didn't care for the reaper sampler, stock reverbs, delays, or compressor, found the mixer somewhat confusing as well). Wish I could have spent the time actually making music haha.
FL is great, Ableton is great, it's up to you. It takes a month+ to fully switch over imo
and the best part. s*** is a vegan wit the cpu
can stack tracks on tracks without no buffering or anything
forgot about that
Might have to hop over cuz Logic's been s***ting the bed on my 7 year old Mac recently.
I could use Valhallaroom at a low mix on everything and not think about cpu usage

that's my philosophy too i didn't think i'd switch from FL but i heard that different daw's resample differently which can change the sound of whatever ur making. Apparently s*** made in ableton or reaper apparently sounds cleaner than fl
i dont know how true that is but if there is truth to that it cant hurt to check out

Yea if cpu is a problem reaper is the goat no question. i be doin WILD s*** sometimes and reaper just takes it
ive been seeing alot of valhalla. Might have to cop dat for the verbs.
Bro you got thrre months free there's ways to finesse that thing lmao
Just downloaded
I got a ton of free time now. Might as well get nice at something ive always wanted to try

The stocks actually pretty good tbh. I used em for about a year before i got reverb plug ins just to get the hang of it. Decent. The JS plug ins are where its at tho. Those are the ones that the userbase makes. reasamplomatic dope af tho ngl i still use that

Yeah different daws and samplers utilize different algorithms
are u transposing audio or using a sampler? It'll sound slightly different if u do one or the other.

Resamplomatic pissed me off so much
it was such a pita to work with compared to exs24
Now I have TAL Sampler so I might open up reaper again. How do I get all of the reapaks files to stop hanging all over the place?

i recently started using Serato for chops
s*** is crazy clean
but for drums n other one shot type samples i throw in the sequencer i transpose it right there

make sampler patches with ur favorite kicks/snares/etc
Take the sustain down to zero, then play with the dacay and release to shape your hits
If u realize a kick sample or something isn't working, u can easily just switch to another note on your midi instead of digging through it sample packs

@baella
just made this it's mainly just a sample but i did some melody stuff
drums are all me
