I'm not Fantano, so I can't really explain why he didn't make a big deal about Alexis being an abuser, might be since he was close to the victim before, but as you and others have pointed out, he's perhaps doing it for views and exposure, but it's not like what he's saying is wrong. I don't see it as mere posturing, he's not being disingenuous, some people need to be reminded of this, given how much of a hold Kanye has on everyone today.

I don't understand why people insist on someone's hypocrisy. Similarly, when leftist Noname fans called her a hypocrite for platforming antisemite Jay Electronica because she's a progressive and didn't have the same energy for all the people she called "fake," we have to stop comparing every situation in order to find a break in someone's consistency. @edumist
